An ADE weekend couples massage is a booking we see more of every October. Amsterdam Dance Event takes over the city for five days in the middle of the month, with hundreds of club nights, daytime conferences and parties in venues from the old centre to the docks in the north. Couples who travel for it dance until dawn, sleep until noon, and do it again. By the third day, the legs, feet and lower back have had enough.
Why an ADE weekend couples massage helps the second half
ADE is a marathon rather than a single night. Couples who plan a proper rest in the middle of the week tend to enjoy the final nights more than those who push straight through. A couples massage with a therapist each lets both of you recover at the same time, in the room, without spending precious daylight hours travelling to a spa.
Timing around club nights
Club schedules at ADE turn the day upside down, and our hours suit that. We answer every message at any hour, and the rate does not change at night. Couples usually choose one of these moments:
- Early afternoon, after sleeping in and eating, before getting ready for the night.
- Early evening on a night off, followed by an early sleep.
- The afternoon after the final night, before a flight home the next day.
A session directly after a club night, at six in the morning, is possible, but most couples find they fall asleep before it is over. The session works much better after a few hours of sleep.
ADE is a peak date
ADE week is one of our peak periods, alongside King's Day, Pride and the winter holidays. Every booking during it is confirmed with half the fee, whatever the format. Send that half through the WhatsApp thread by card, Revolut, Wise or crypto; if you cancel later, it is kept. If your plans change more than 24 hours ahead, one move to another date within 14 days keeps it attached. For the rule in full, see our cancellation policy, which uses couples bookings as its examples.
What to book for two
After days of dancing, ninety minutes is the length most couples choose. On the couple, two-therapist row it is EUR 1,080; an hour is EUR 720 and two hours EUR 1,440. Two guests sharing a single therapist, one at a time, are charged EUR 360 an hour. The rates are listed on every therapist profile.
Tell us in the message that you are at ADE. The therapists will concentrate on feet, calves, thighs and lower back, which carry most of the load of long nights standing and dancing.
Where ADE couples stay
Festival visitors are spread across the city, from hotels near Leidseplein and Rembrandtplein, close to the central clubs, to apartments in Amsterdam-Noord near the venues along the IJ. The two therapists reach central addresses forty to sixty minutes after confirmation. If you are in a rented apartment, mention the building entrance and whether there is a lift.
Looking after yourselves
Drink plenty of water before and after the session; long nights dehydrate the body more than people realise. Eat something before the pair arrive. Shower, warm the room, and clear the floor beside the bed of the clothes from last night.
When only one of you is dancing
Not every couple at ADE goes to the same parties. Sometimes one partner comes for the music and the other comes for the city, and by midweek one of them is far more tired than the other. In that case a single therapist for the dancer, EUR 180 an hour, or four hands for one guest at EUR 360 an hour, may suit better than a session each. Tell us who needs the recovery more, and we will shape the booking around that partner while leaving the other free to enjoy the afternoon in their own way.
Booking it
Send the date, the time, the length, a therapist each or one shared, and your area. Each of you has to be 21 or above for the booking to go ahead. Book it ahead of the week if you can, so the rest day is fixed before the parties begin. A rest afternoon that is already paid for is much harder to talk yourselves out of when friends suggest one more set.
