02 Who arrives

Emily, and how she works.

Wide streets, quiet stairwells, guests who have already decided how the evening should go — that end of the city suits her. She uses English only and uses it sparingly, enough to settle two nervous people but never enough to fill a silence that was doing fine on its own. Four-hand work is mostly a matter of knowing when to be the one who waits, and she is better at that than most. Couples ask for her in a pair more often than alone, which she prefers, and a late arrival does not trouble her in the least.

She works outcall only — your hotel room, your serviced apartment, your own flat. Twenty to thirty minutes across the centre once the booking is settled, at any hour. Schiphol airport hotels are by arrangement.
