Couples Massage With Two Different Lengths

A couples massage does not need one shared clock. Ninety minutes for one of you and an hour for the other, staggered to finish together, with the sums.

Couples massage with two different lengths is the arrangement nobody asks about, because the format is presented as one booking and one clock and most people assume the clock is shared. It usually is. Nothing whatsoever requires it to be. If one of you wants ninety minutes and the other genuinely wants sixty, that is a bookable evening, and the fact that so few couples know it explains a specific kind of disappointment: one person lying there for the last half hour wishing it would end, or the other one sitting up at the finish thinking that was just getting good.

Here is how the uneven version actually works, what it costs, and when it is the wrong answer.

Why the lengths end up mismatched

Two people do not have the same tolerance for lying still, and that has nothing to do with how much either of them is enjoying it. Some people are gone by minute twenty and would happily stay for three hours. Others are deeply relaxed for fifty minutes and then start thinking about their emails, and no amount of skill from anybody prevents it.

Physical stamina differs too. A back that has been on a plane at six this morning gets more from ninety minutes than a body that spent the day on a bicycle in the Vondelpark and is already loose. And enthusiasm differs: the partner who booked this will take every minute available, while the one who agreed to it is often better served by a session that stops while they still like it.

None of that is a problem until you buy a single number for both of you.

How two lengths are arranged in one room

The straightforward way is a staggered finish. Both therapists start together; one works sixty minutes and one works ninety. The shorter session closes, that therapist packs up quietly and steps out, and the other keeps going for another half hour.

It is less disruptive than it sounds. The pair agree the shape of it before anything begins, the same way they agree the running order and where the turn falls, and the closing of one session is done in near silence. The person still on the table generally registers a door and nothing more.

The other way is a staggered start, which is often better. The longer session begins half an hour earlier and both finish at the same moment. This is the version to choose if the two of you want to come out of it together, and it is the one couples prefer once they hear both options. It costs the same. It just requires deciding thirty minutes earlier, which is the only real price.

Either way the room is set up once, at the beginning, for both. The room setup guide covers what that arrangement takes in an ordinary hotel room.

What two different lengths cost

The arithmetic is simply two separate sessions added together, because that is literally what it is. A therapist is €180 an hour and €270 for ninety minutes. So sixty plus ninety is €450. Sixty plus one hundred and twenty is €540. Ninety plus ninety would have been €540 as well, which is a useful comparison to have in front of you: going uneven is not a saving so much as a redistribution of the same money toward whoever will use it.

That is worth sitting with for a second. For most couples the choice is not between spending more and spending less. It is between two matching hours and one long one plus one short one at a similar total. Put the minutes where they will be enjoyed. The full ladder makes the sums easy to do in your head before you send anything.

When not to do it

On a first booking, keep them equal. The whole appeal of side by side is the shared shape of it, and the first time is when that shape does the most work. Find out how each of you actually responds to an hour before you start engineering around it.

If the shorter session belongs to the more hesitant of the two, think again about whether length is the real variable. Somebody who is unsure usually needs a different format rather than fewer minutes, and cutting their session short can read as being given the smaller portion. The uneven enthusiasm piece covers what actually helps there, and it is not the clock.

And if the difference is only fifteen minutes, skip it. The coordination is not worth the marginal quarter hour, and matching lengths keeps the room simpler.

Saying it in the message

One sentence: ninety minutes for one of us and an hour for the other, finishing together if that is possible. That is the entire request. The reply comes back in about ten minutes with two names, the total and an arrival window, and it will say which of the two staggering options fits the pair who are free.

Do not leave it until the therapists are in the room. This one genuinely has to be arranged in advance, because two diaries are being set against two different end times, and the woman with the shorter booking may well have somewhere to be. It is the one adjustment on this whole site that is easy beforehand and difficult afterwards.

For a first evening where the two of you are still working out what suits, the beginners guide is a better starting point than this one. Come back here on the second booking, when you know which of you is the ninety minute person. One of you almost certainly is.

03 Carry on

Shorter notes, longer guides, and the evening itself.

These notes answer one question at a time. When the two of you want the whole picture in one sitting, the guides take it slowly; when you have already decided, the landing pages open straight onto a booking.

Tell us the room, the hour, and whether you want one of us or two.

Nothing else has to be settled in advance. Two names and an arrival window come back on the same thread, usually inside ten minutes of you writing.
