A couples massage on a rainy day in Amsterdam is what many visiting pairs end up booking after the weather ruins the plan. It happens in every season. You wake to grey skies, the forecast shows rain until night, and the canal cruise, the bike ride and the walk through the Jordaan all look less appealing by the hour. Museums fill up with everyone else who had the same idea. By mid-afternoon you are back in the room, damp and slightly bored.
This note is about turning that afternoon into the part of the trip you remember.
Why a couples massage on a rainy day works so well
Rain is a reason to stay in, and staying in is exactly what an in-room booking offers. You do not travel anywhere. You do not need an umbrella, a tram or a queue. The two therapists come to you, and once they leave, the room is still warm and quiet and the rain is still outside. Couples who compared a spa and an in-room session on a wet day often say the second won simply because it did not involve going back out into the weather. The in-room vs spa guide covers that choice in more detail.
Afternoon or evening
We work at every hour, so a rainy-day booking can start at two in the afternoon as easily as at nine at night. Afternoon sessions suit couples who plan to go out for dinner once the rain eases. Evening sessions suit those who have given up on the day and want to order food to the room afterwards.
Send a message with the time you want. The reply comes in about ten minutes with names and a total. After confirmation, the pair reach any central address forty to sixty minutes later, rain or not.
What to book
A couples massage with a therapist each is the usual choice, because both of you are equally stuck indoors. It is EUR 720 for an hour and EUR 1,440 for two hours on the couple, two-therapist row. If only one of you wants a massage and the other would rather read, a single therapist for one guest is EUR 180 an hour, and four hands for one of you is EUR 360 an hour. A couple sharing one therapist is EUR 360 an hour.
Any booking with two therapists, and every first booking with us, is confirmed with half the fee, paid by card, Revolut, Wise or crypto. A cancelled booking keeps its deposit on our side. The other half is paid once the therapists are with you.
The wet-weather room checklist
Rainy days leave their own mess. Hang wet coats in the bathroom rather than over the chair beside the bed. Put muddy shoes by the door. Open the curtains a little if you like the sound and the grey light, or close them fully if you want the room dim. Turn the heating up: damp clothes and a cool room make the body tense before anyone has started. Take warm showers so both of you are properly heated through.
The therapists will arrive with their own bags protected from the rain and will bring dry towels, oils and a fresh cover for the bed.
Making the rest of the day
After the session, many couples do nothing at all, which is the point. Others wait for the rain to stop and walk out for a late dinner in a quiet neighbourhood. If the weather clears the next day, you will be rested for the walks you postponed.
Choosing a length for a slow day
A wet afternoon has nothing to hurry it along, which is why rainy-day bookings tend to run longer than evening ones. Ninety minutes is a common choice for couples with a therapist each, and two hours suits pairs who have given up on the day entirely. Longer sessions leave time for a pause in the middle, a cup of tea while the rain keeps falling on the window, before the second half. If you are new to us, remember that a first booking carries a deposit whatever its length, so decide on the length before you confirm rather than after the pair arrive.
Booking it
Write with your area, the time, the length and the format. We book only adults of 21 and older, so that applies to each of you. On a day when the city is at its greyest, one message can still change how it ends.
