Simultaneous means both partners are massaged at once by two therapists; sequential means one therapist sees each partner in turn, at the single-therapist rate.
These two words describe the most important decision a couple makes, and it is usually made before technique, therapist or length is even discussed. Both arrangements give each of you real time. They differ in cost, in rhythm and in what the partner who is not being massaged is doing.
Two therapists arrive, and the two of you are looked after in the same stretch of time. You begin together and finish together, which suits couples who want the whole thing to be shared, or who have a dinner reservation waiting afterwards. It is priced by the pair rate: EUR 360 an hour, EUR 720 for two hours, EUR 1,080 for three. Because two therapists are involved, a deposit of half is always part of it.
One therapist arrives and works with one partner, then the other. The booking is simply a longer single-therapist session divided between you. Two hours at EUR 360 gives each of you an hour; three hours at EUR 540 gives each of you ninety minutes. The partner waiting can read, shower, open the wine or stay in the room, whichever the two of you agreed beforehand.
Sequential costs half as much per hour, but it takes twice as long on the clock. It also changes the deposit picture. A returning couple booking two hours with one therapist for the same day falls inside the only arrangement paid entirely on arrival, while a sequential booking of three hours carries a deposit like any other session of that length.
Couples with a tight evening, a late flight or a strong wish to be in the moment together usually go simultaneous. Couples who like the idea of watching, or waiting, or who would rather not spend EUR 360 an hour, go sequential. Neither choice is a lesser version of the other.
