A false booking is one placed under a name or number that is not the client's own, or made as a joke; it leads to an internal note kept for twelve months, and a booking made in bad faith may be reported to the police.
Most couples will never need this entry. It exists because a couples booking can bring two women to one unfamiliar door late at night, and a booking that was never real brings them there for nothing.

Pranks aimed at couples are a familiar kind of false booking: a stag group booking "for the newlyweds", a friend using a partner's name as a birthday joke. A real couples booking usually looks like one, written from the client's own account with the address and time in the client's own words. If you are planning a genuine surprise for your partner, book in your own name and from your own phone; that is enough.
